Basic plot: Race 3 deals with a family that is involved in the illegal dealing of weapons. The movie centers around the complicated relationships between all the characters, with numerous plot twists. Greedy and hungry for power, the movie portrays the fight between loyalty, family, power, and money.
Race 3 is one of those movies you go to watch because you’re a fan of Salman Khan. I went to watch this movie with absolutely no expectations what so ever. I was fortunate enough to watch the movie without seeing any spoilers anywhere (this is one movie where the spoilers will in fact ruin the movie for you, but don’t worry this review features no spoilers what so ever!).
Race 3 is a perfect combination of drama, action, and thriller. This movie kept me at the edge of my seat! The highlight of the movie was Salman Khan. Salman plays a character that is both lovable and dangerous and he is faithfully supported throughout the movie by Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor. Both Deol and Kapoor are on par with Salman all throughout the movie.
Surprisingly, one area where the movie falls short is the soundtrack. Apart from the theme song of Allah Duhai Hai and Heeriye, all other songs fail to make an impact. I wish there was a way to skip the songs in the movie as they added nothing to the story and were not at all memorable. That said, the biggest weakness of the movie is the lead actress, Jacqueline Fernandez.
Jacqueline fails to make any sort of impression on the audience (honestly even Daisy Shah out performs Jacqueline), and her dialogue delivery seems to be getting worse with each movie. Her performance does get better following the intermission, as she thankfully, only has a handful of dialogues. Fernandez serves the role of the hot arm candy for the main lead but adds no substance to her own character and appears to be overacting throughout the entire movie.
Overall I give the movie a 2/5. One star for Salman Khan and one star for the story which is interesting enough to keep the audience engrossed for the entirety of the film.
