Hayley Atwell Will Star In Next Mission: Impossible Instalment!

Moving on from her Marvel days, Hayley Atwell will be starring in the popular spy film series alongside Tom Cruise.

The news was announced by director/writer Christopher McQuarrie to tease Instagram with the new addition to the cast. He took a photo of Atwell and posted it with the caption: ‘Should you choose to accept…’

Atwell then responded by saying, ‘Mission: Accepted. Though I’m not the sort to follow orders…’

Atwell has been a fan favourite for a long time, reaching fame with Marvel-heads when she joined the franchise as Agent Peggy Carter, the love interest for Captain Ameria who became so much more than that when she earned her own seriesĀ ‘Agent Carter’. Other recent roles of the actress’ include Blinded by the Light which is in cinema now and Christopher Robin last year. She will also be reprising her role of Peggy in an episode of ‘What If…?’ which is an animated series yet to be released by Disney+.

She will be joining the Mission: Impossible veteran Tom Cruise who is reprising his role as Ethan Hunt and Rebecca Ferguson is also returning. The last instalment to the franchise, ‘Fallout’ which came out last year reached the highest gross that any of the Mission: Impossible films have. It earned $791.1 million across the world so there is high anticipation for the next release.

However, with the news that Atwell will be joining, the interest of many fans are already peaked. The film will be released on July 23rd in 2021 so we have plenty of time to wait.
