We at Sszeemedia always love to promote the work that our female geniuses create in the entertainment field and it is a shame that some of the best female directors have once again been ignored by the Academy, especially as many of their films such as Greta Gerwig’s Little Women have been nominated for other awards. On a personal note, I am also disappointed that Lupita Nyong’o didn’t receive a nomination for her excellent dual performance in Us and Taron Egerton’s performance as Elton John in Rocketman was ignored. I am pleased to see that Lion King has been recognised for its visual effects despite the mixed reception.

What are your opinions? Who do you think got snubbed this year? Who do you want to win? Let us know in the comments!
