Anurag Kashyap and Nawazuddin Siddiqui—the blockbuster director-actor due, who has created magic on screen with films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Raman Raghav 2.0—are once again back but this time sharing screen for the film Haddi. Haddi, a ZEE5 original film dropped its trailer creating a lot of anticipation among the audience as Siddiqui is playing a role of a transgender and Kashyap plays a politician. Directed by Akshat Ajay Sharma and Adamya Bhalla, Haddi is a gripping tale of revenge and redemption as it presents a story of a transgender, who rise as a top criminal in the underworld, while seeking vengeance for his family who was wronged by a powerful politician. The two minutes and 25 seconds long trailer of Haddi has engaged its audience through its impactful dialogues, enthralling scenes and off course Siddiqui’s power-pack performance as a transgender has caught everyone’s eyes. Siddiqui, who is known for his versatile acting skills, will be portraying a transgender for the first time onscreen. Speaking to media outlets about his preparation and presentation of a transgender woman, he said that it was “mentally and physically exhausting” for him to play such a complex character as he stayed among the transgender community to understand their psyche and emotions. Haddi also features Ila Arun, Vipin Sharma, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in significant roles. Haddi is set to premiere on Zee5 on September 7th.
