Netflix is currently producing a gripping new docuseries led by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson that will delve into the serious allegations surrounding Sean “Diddy” Combs, according to Variety exclusive report. Directed by Alexandria Stapleton, the series will cover accusations of sex trafficking, racketeering, and sexual assault, as well as violent abuse claims against the hip-hop mogul. The project is already in production and promises to shed light on a complex story that spans decades.

“This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far,” said 50 Cent and Stapleton in an exclusive statement to Variety. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to give a voice to the voiceless and to present authentic and nuanced perspectives. While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the full story of hip-hop and its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions,” added the statement.

50 Cent is executive producing the series through his G-Unit Film & Television banner, alongside Stapleton, who is producing for House of Nonfiction. Texas Crew Productions is also attached to the project.

The docuseries follows an avalanche of legal woes for Combs, which began late last year. In December, he was sued by four women, including his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, whose lawsuit was quickly settled but triggered a wave of additional complaints. Shortly afterward, 50 Cent teased the docuseries on social media, sharing a clip of Bad Boy Records artist Mark Curry, who alleged that Combs spiked champagne bottles at parties before offering them to women.

Recently, Combs was arrested in New York on three serious charges—racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Though he pleaded not guilty, he remains in custody after being denied bail.

On top of his criminal charges, several other lawsuits have surfaced. In February, a former employee, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, accused Combs of making unwanted sexual advances and coercing him to hire and engage with sex workers. More recently, in April, a yacht steward, Grace O’Marcaigh, alleged that Combs’ son, Christian “King” Combs, assaulted her, with Sean Combs paying off the yacht’s captain to cover up the incident. In May, another complaint came from model Crystal McKinney, claiming that Combs drugged and assaulted her in 2003. Most recently, Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard filed a lawsuit accusing Combs of verbal and sexual abuse, as well as intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Though Combs has denied all accusations, his first and only public admission of wrongdoing came after a video leaked in May showing him physically assaulting Cassie in a hotel. He posted on social media, said, “I take full responsibility for my actions.” Despite this acknowledgment, he has largely maintained his innocence. In December, Combs wrote, “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,” in a statement posted to his social media accounts, claiming he was the target of people seeking a quick payday. “Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family, and for the truth,” he stated.

Though that particular post has since disappeared from Instagram, it remains pinned to the top of his X (formerly Twitter) profile. This docuseries marks Netflix’s official entry into the production, following previous discussions by 50 Cent with The Hollywood Reporter in July. Proceeds from the project will reportedly go toward supporting victims of sexual assault, further cementing the project’s aim to give voice to those impacted by these allegations.

With the production still underway, 50 Cent and Netflix aim to navigate this complex and controversial story, balancing Combs’ influence on hip-hop culture with the serious legal issues and accusations currently surrounding him.
