The Dhoom franchise is officially gearing up for its next chapter, with Dhoom 4 now in active pre-production under the supervision of Aditya Chopra at Yash Raj Films (YRF). According to exclusive reports from Pinkvilla, the superhit action series will receive a fresh reboot, with Ranbir Kapoor taking the lead command of the film.

Dhoom 2 brought Hrithik Roshan into the fray, while Dhoom 3 saw Aamir Khan step into the role of the antagonist. After years of speculation about the next installment, Dhoom 4 is finally taking shape.

The idea and vision is to create a cinematic experience like never before with the fourth Dhoom film,” the source added.
After months of speculation, Ranbir Kapoor is taking up the lead role has been confirmed. “The discussions with Ranbir have been going on for the longest time. He had always shown interest to be a part of Dhoom 4 on hearing the basic idea, and is now finally confirmed to lead the franchise. Adi Chopra feels that RK is the ideal choice to carry forward the Dhoom legacy,” the insider added.
Dhoom 4 is not only expected to be the biggest installment of the franchise but also a massive tentpole film from Indian cinema on a global scale. The production team aims to begin filming by late 2025 or early 2026, once Ranbir Kapoor completes his commitments to Love and War and the Ramayana franchise.
“Interestingly, Dhoom 4 will be the 25th film of Ranbir Kapoor’s career, and the actor is all excited to make his silver jubilee project special,” the source added according to Pinkvilla report. YRF plans to lock in a director by mid-2025, who will work closely with the team through the extensive pre-production process and location scouting. Alongside Dhoom 4, YRF is building a powerhouse slate for the next five years with projects like War 2, Alpha, Mardani 3, Pathaan 2, and the much-anticipated Tiger vs Pathaan.
