Music lovers are in for a rare and resonant experience as the Barbican partners with Dialled In to showcase the sonic brilliance of the South Asian world and diaspora. The special evening features performances by Ustad Noor Bakhsh, Jaubi, and Amrit Kaur—each artist a cultural beacon in their own right.

Ustad Noor Bakhsh, a 78-year-old benju maestro from coastal Balochistan, brings with him a legacy of tradition and spiritual devotion. Though a living legend in Pakistan, Bakhsh’s presence on the global stage is only just beginning—and this event marks one of his first UK performances.

Joining him are Jaubi, a Lahore-based experimental jazz and classical ensemble, whose compositions have received praise from Rolling Stone, The Guardian, and Pitchfork. Their distinct fusion of South Asian scales and Western improvisation creates music that is both meditative and expansive.

Rounding out the evening is Amrit Kaur, a bold and deeply emotive North London artist whose work as a sarangi player and vocalist captures the lived experiences of young, British-born South Asian women. Her music is both prayer and protest—a sonic journal of what it means to carry heritage forward.

This event isn’t just a concert—it’s a reflection of identity, resilience, and radical creativity.
