Chennaiyin FC’s marquee player, Elano Blumer was a vital reason for their successful stint in the first season of the Indian Super League. Elano Blumer was their free kick magician and also won the Golden Boot as he was the top scorer of the season with 8 goals in just 9 appearances.

Comparatively much younger but another Brazilian with spark, Bruno Pelissari stepped up for the club after Elano got sidelined due to his injury. Pelissari managed to become a vital part of the forward line of Chennaiyin FC and scored 4 goals in 11 appearances.
