Emma has been an unexpected star within the box office this weekend – many a time, Jane Austen’s novels have been adapted into films and TV series. However, Autumn de Wilde’s fresh take on the story of the mischievous matchmaker has charmed audiences and had a delightful intake at the box office. Starring Split‘s Anya Taylor-Joy, the film shows the story of the matchmaker Emma while developing themes of friendship, the difference between classes and above all, the search for love and all of the problems that come with it. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a 100% audience score and 88% critics score. We will be reviewing the film soon so keep your eyes peeled!
