Warner Bros Discovery (WBD), on Thursday, agreed to a five-year deal with UK pay-TV broadcaster TNT Sports to telecast all international cricket played in India. The deal, which will start with the upcoming Test series between India and England, comes at a time when there were concerns over the UK blackout of the India vs England five-match Test series.

As a result of the deal, the series will not be telecast on the TNT Sports linear channel and streaming platform Discovery+.

England’s tour of India will kickstart a five-year partnership between WBD, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Pitch, the agency that sells the TV rights to India’s home internationals on behalf of the BCCI.

The rights package includes all red and white-ball international cricket played in India across the men’s and women’s games.

The England men’s team is scheduled to tour India on three occasions over the course of the agreement. First for a red-ball series, starting January 25. Followed by a white-ball series at the start of 2025 and then a Test series taking place in January and February of 2028.

While rival pay-TV channel Sky Sports has always been the home of England cricket, TNT established itself in the race in recent years by showing the Ashes series played in Australia.

This new deal is the latest rights acquisition made by WBD since BT Sport was rebranded to TNT.
