Ram Mandir’s inauguration in Ayodhya today was nothing less than a star-studded affair, which saw participation from every sphere of society.

From politicians, saints, and sportspersons to actors—it felt like no one wanted to miss out on the history in the making. In total 7,000 guests were invited for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.

Not only Ayodhya but the whole nation was allowed to celebrate the event as the stock market remained shut for the day and all central government offices including banks were open only for half the day.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the rituals of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh’s governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi were also present during the rituals.

The Pran Pratishtha ceremony began at 12.20 pm following which PM Modi addressed the gathering of more than 7,000 people, saying, “After a long wait for ages, our Ram has arrived”.

Film stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rohit Shetty, Telugu star Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi, Rajnikanth, Dhanush, Anupam Kher, Randeep Hooda, Kangna Ranaut and many more attended the festival.

Prominent personalities like Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani; Akash Ambani and Shloka Ambani; Sajjan Jindal, Chairman and MD of JSW Group; industrialists Anil Ambani; Sunil Bharti Mittal; Kumar Mangalam Birla and his daughter Ananya Birla; Sports icons, including Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Saina Nehwal, and Mithali Raj and others also visited Ayodhya to participate in the ceremony.

Besides the invited guests, hundreds of devotees also reached Ayodhya to be a part of this historical moment.

In 2019, the Supreme Court of India passed the historical judgment on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit, handing over the land to a trust that would be specially set up to oversee the construction of a Hindu temple.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was established by the Indian government as the authorised body.

In the judgment, SC also gave a separate piece of land to Muslims in Dhannipur village on the outskirts of Ayodhya for a mosque, a replacement for the Babri Masjid. The construction of the mosque hasn’t been started yet.

On the morning of 6th December 1992, the 16th-century mosque was demolished by “kar sevaks”, a mob of Hindu Nationalists.
