Singer Taylor Swift greeted Travis Kelce with a short peck and a big hug after his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, beat the Baltimore Ravens to advance to the Super Bowl. As the celebrations continued, both of them locked lips with a smooch for the NFL world to see and behold.
This exchange of greetings between the stars prompted a ‘One Tree Hill’ throwback. After videos and photos of Swift and Kelce were shared on social media, some users recalled a similar scene between Hilary Burton’s Peyton Sawyer and Chad Michael Murray‘s Lucas Scott in The WB/The CW drama series.
Swift’s romance with Kelce has become one of the prominent stories this NFL season. The singer-songwriter cheered on merrily throughout the Chiefs’ 17-10 victory in the AFC championship game.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid, before receiving the Lamar Hunt Trophy for the fourth time in five years, found Swift in the crowd and pointed at her. She too obliged and pointed back.
Afterward the victory, Swift and Kelce walked arm and arm around the field.
Kelce, who is also a Super Bowl champion, spent less time speaking to the reporters on the sidelines, making it clear that his priority was someone else.
“You can tell he loves this game. Honestly, I could tell that he loved this victory more than any victory this season,” receiver Rashee Rice said.
While all is but set for Swift to be present at the Allegiant Stadium during the Super Bowl between the Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, the only thing that might act as an obstacle is Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ schedule.
She has concerts set for Tokyo on Friday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 10, but the time difference would allow her to be on hand for the game.
During the AFC title game, Swift was often shown on the giant screen, cheered on from her suite with Kelce’s family and friends — and celebrity pals Cara Delevingne and Keleigh Teller.
CBS cut to Swift while advertising its upcoming Grammy Awards broadcast and showed her again after Kelce made a big catch in the second quarter.
Swift has been a regular at Kelce’s games for several months, bringing more attention from her passionate fan base of “Swifties” who helped break ratings records during the regular season and playoffs.
