The 66th Grammy Awards ceremony took place in downtown Los Angeles at the Crypto.com Arena with Taylor Swift making history by winning “Album Of The Year” award for “Midnights”. This is the fourth time the singer-songwriter won the award. Earlier, she won for “Fearless,” “1989” and “Folklore”.

Swift in her acceptance speech, acknowledge both her producer Jack Antonoff—who had already won the Grammy for “Producer of the Year” and collaborator Lana Del Rey, who was also nominated for “Album Of The Year for”. She called Antonoff “a once in a generation producer” and Del Rey “a legacy artist, a legend in her prime right now.”

“I would love to tell you that this is the best moment of my life, but I feel this happy when I finish a song, or when I crack to code to a bridge I love, or when I’m shortlisting a music video, or when I’m rehearsing with my dancers or my band, or getting ready to go to Tokyo to play a show. For me the award is the work. All I wanna do is keep being able to do this. I love it so much, it makes me so happy,” She added.

Other notable winners included Miley Cyrus, who took home “Record of the Year” for her hit song “Flowers,” Victoria Monét honored as the “New Artist of the Year,” and the song “What Was I Made For?” from the film “Barbie,” winning “Song of the Year” with credits to Billie Eilish O’Connell & Finneas O’Connell.

Prior to the Primetime Ceremony, SZA, Boygenius, and Victoria Monét had already secured multiple wins, reflecting their exceptional contributions to the music industry.

This year, the Recording Academy introduced three new categories for the 2024 edition of the Grammys. These included African Music Performance, won by South African artist Tyla, Alternative Jazz Album, claimed by Meshell Ndegeocello, and Pop Dance Recording, awarded to Kylie Minogue.

Trevor Noah hosted the Primetime Ceremony, which was broadcast on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.
