South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festivals, set to run from 8th to 16th March 2024, has just announced the addition of 50 captivating projects to round out its extensive lineup. These new additions span across various genres including dramas, documentaries, and television series, promising to deliver an exhilarating experience to attendees.

With the inclusion of these 50 projects, the total lineup now boasts 115 features, including 89 World Premieres, 3 International Premieres, 6 North American Premieres, 4 U.S. Premieres, and 13 Texas Premieres. Additionally, there will be 80 Short Films, comprising 19 Music Videos, and a diverse TV program featuring 7 TV Premieres, 8 TV Spotlight World Premieres, and 6 Independent TV Pilots. The XR Experience program is also set to showcase 38 innovative projects.

Among the standout additions to the lineup are highly anticipated dramas such as ‘Immaculate,’ directed by Michael Mohan, which follows the harrowing journey of a nun in a remote Italian convent, and ‘Monkey Man,’ marking Dev Patel’s directorial debut in an action-packed thriller.

Documentary enthusiasts can look forward to compelling features like ‘7 Beats Per Minute,’ directed by Yuqi Kang, which delves into the life of freediving champion Jessea Lu, and ‘The Antisocial Network,’ exploring the rise of online communities and their impact on reality.

Television aficionados will be treated to premieres of new series including ‘Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story,’ offering an intimate look at the iconic band’s history, and the Duplass Brothers Indie TV Showcase, presenting four independently produced pilots featuring diverse narratives and talent.

Claudette Godfrey, VP of Film & TV at SXSW, expressed excitement about the diverse range of projects, inviting audiences to immerse themselves in the shared cinema experience and celebrate the art of storytelling.

SXSW has become a premier destination for film, television, and XR enthusiasts, drawing thousands of fans, industry leaders, and creatives to Austin each year. In addition to film and TV screenings, attendees will have access to a plethora of Conference Sessions, Music and Comedy Showcases, Creative Industry Exhibitions, and Special Events.
