Indian singer Mohit Chauhan celebrated 25 years in the music industry with the release of his latest album, ‘Musafir’, under his own label, Mohit Chauhan Music. The album, marking his fifth studio release, showcases a unique collaboration between Indian and Mongolian music.
The album launch event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Cabinet Minister Kiren Rijiju and MP Meenakshi Lekhi, emphasized the cultural significance and diplomatic ties between India and Mongolia. Shri Rijiju expressed optimism about the song’s role in strengthening bilateral relations, citing the spiritual connection between the two countries.
Meenakshi Lekhi highlighted the longstanding friendship between India and Mongolia, noting the song’s potential to resonate for generations to come. Mohit Chauhan, reflecting on the song’s creation, recalled his travels with the Indian delegation carrying relics of Lord Buddha and expressed hopes for peace and love as Mongolia celebrates its New Year.
The album ‘Musafir’ features 10 songs, with the first track, ‘Duur’, released on the occasion of Losar, the Mongolian New Year. This collaboration commemorates 69 years of friendship between the two nations, with celebrations set to culminate in 2025.
Notably, ‘Duur’ marks the first-ever Indo-Mongolian music collaboration, symbolizing the enduring diplomatic and cultural ties between India and Mongolia. The album launch event was attended by esteemed guests including H.E Shri Dambajavyn Ganbold, Mongolian Ambassador, and M P Singh, Former Ambassador of India to Mongolia.
Mohit Chauhan, currently serving as the Cultural Envoy of Mongolia to India, boasts an illustrious career spanning over two decades, with numerous national and international awards to his credit. A pioneer in promoting folk music and culture, Chauhan’s musical journey has left an indelible mark on Bollywood and regional cinema.
