Filmmaker Karan Johar has announced the cast and title of the upcoming romantic comedy, featuring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film, titled ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,’ marks the second collaboration between Varun and Janhvi, who previously shared screen space in ‘Bawaal’. Varun has a longstanding relationship with director Shashank Khaitan, having worked together on successful projects like ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ and ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, both produced under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions banner.
Janhvi, meanwhile, made her debut under Khaitan’s direction in ‘Dhadak’, also backed by Karan Johar’s production house.
Along with the announcement, makers also released a quirky teaser video promising viewers a delightful love story filled with entertainment. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on 18th April 2025.
The announcement of ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ marks the 9th collaboration between Varun Dhawan and Dharma Productions and for Janhvi Kapoor, this film represents her 4th collaboration with the esteemed production house.
Currently, Varun Dhawan is occupied with promotions for his upcoming project ‘Baby John’, directed by Kalees and produced by Murad Khetani and Atlee, following the completion of shooting for his father David Dhawan’s upcoming comedy.
Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor is set to make her debut in South Indian cinema opposite Jr. NTR in ‘Devara’. The actress has signed on for a film alongside Ram Charan and Suriya.
