Josh McDermitt, known for his role as Eugene Porter in ‘The Walking Dead,’ is set to star alongside Stephen Amell in NBC’s upcoming legal drama, ‘Suits L.A.,’ created by ‘Suits’ creator Aaron Korsh, according to a Deadline report. The production is expected to start in late March in Vancouver.

‘Suits L.A.’ follows Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who has rebranded himself as a representative for the most influential clients in Los Angeles. As his firm faces a crisis, Ted must embrace a role he previously disdained, surrounded by a cast of characters testing their loyalties amidst intertwining personal and professional lives.

Meanwhile, past events resurface, forcing Ted to confront the reasons behind his departure from everything and everyone he once loved.

Fifteen years ago, Ted Black teamed up with his old friend, Stuart Lane (McDermitt), to establish Black Lane Law, specializing in criminal and entertainment law.

McDermitt’s character, Stuart Lane, is described as energetic, powerful, focused, and self-absorbed. ‘Suits: L.A.’ is not a reboot or revival but rather a brand extension akin to franchises like CSI and NCIS, introducing new characters in a fresh setting.

The old team of ‘Suits’ has reunited once again for the upcoming project including Aaron Korsh, David Bartis, Doug Liman, and Gene Klein as executive producers. Victoria Mahoney directs and executive produces the pilot. UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, serves as the studio.

Additionally, casting director Bonnie Zane, known for her work on the original ‘Suits’ series, returns for this new installment.
