Actor Ryan Gosling is all set to officially perform “I’m Just Ken” live at the Oscars 2024. This news after months of speculation about Gosling’s performance, Variety reported.

As per a Variety report, the actor will sing the Academy Award-nominated song from “Barbie” during the March 10 award ceremony. However, the Academy has yet to comment.

The question of whether Gosling would agree to showcase his singing talent on the Oscars stage has loomed large since both he and the song received nominations in January.

In an early February cover story for Variety, Gosling stated that the Academy has not asked him to perform. “It might be too much of a risk to have me do it. I don’t know how that would work. But I’m open to it,” Gosling said, who is nominated for an acting Oscar for his character of Ken.

“I’m Just Ken” is written by Mark Ronson along with Andrew Wyatt. In an earlier report, Ronson told Variety that it’s his dream for Gosling to perform the song at the award ceremony.

When Ronson was asked if he would probably use another singer to perform the song should Gosling not sing it live during the Oscars, Ronson said, “No. I think if Ryan doesn’t do it then we’re not doing it.”

“I’m Just Ken” and “What Was I Made For?” are the two “Barbie” tracks nominated for an Oscar in the Best Original Song category. The latter, by Billie Eilish and Finneas, clinched the Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media, triumphing over “I’m Just Ken” and Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night.”

The Academy Awards are set to be broadcast on ABC on March 10, commencing at 4 p.m. PT, with Jimmy Kimmel returning as host.
