His performances in romantic dramas like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) solidified his superstar status.
The festival also acknowledged Khan’s versatility in choosing diverse roles, such as his portrayal of Rahul in the 1993 romantic psychological thriller Darr, directed by Yash Chopra, and his role as a journalist falling in love with a terrorist in Mani Ratnam’s 1998 epic Dil Se…
Additionally, Locarno highlighted Khan’s recent successes, including Pathaan, Dunki, and Jawan. The latter, produced by Khan’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment, made history last year as the highest-grossing Hindi film ever.
