The teaser for Maa Kaali has been released that presents often overlooked history of the Direct Action Day and the Naokhali Massacres. Produced by People Media Factory and directed by Vijay Yelakanti, the film stars Raima Sen and Abhishek Singh.

According to reports, the film revisits the tragic events that contributed to the partition of India and left a profound impact on Bengal. Set for release this year, coinciding with the 78th anniversary of these tragic events, Maa Kaali aims to honor the lives lost during the ruthless genocide. The film explores the conspiracy, riots, and political maneuvers that triggered one of the 20th century’s largest human crises, leaving a lasting mark on the region.

The teaser confronts these historical wounds through the story of a Hindu family, revealing the motives, processes, and aftermath of the partition demand. With a poignant call to “Unplug the earphones. Let the Truth be Heard, LOUD and CLEAR,” the film promises to provoke reflection and awareness among audiences.

Talking about the film, actress Raima Sen said, “The story of Maa Kaali resonates profoundly with the atrocities faced by our people during the massacre. Even as a Bengali, I discovered many heart-wrenching details about this event through this film, making it a moral duty for me to bring its truth to light.”

Former IAS officer turned actor Abhishek Singh added, “Maa Kaali sheds light on one of the most pivotal yet lesser-known chapters of our history. It’s crucial to raise awareness about this monstrous tragedy that continues to remain shrouded in mystery.”
