The excitement surrounding Stree 2 increases as the film is about to release on 15th August 2024. Featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, the film has generated a significant buzz, particularly after its unexpected teaser premiere announcing the sequel. Adding to the excitement, film director Amar Kaushik has hinted at the potential for multiple sequels, including a possible Stree 3.
The horror comedy Stree became a standout in the genre upon its release on 31st August, 2018, leaving fans eagerly anticipating a sequel. The recent release of Munjya from the Maddock Supernatural Universe included an unexpected Stree 2 teaser trailer, further fueling the anticipation.
With the release of Stree 2 just around the corner, fans are keen to know if there will be a Stree 3. Addressing this curiosity, Kaushik told the Hindustan Times, “There is a possibility. There’s story still left to be told and characters left to be explored. A call will be taken after the film’s (Stree 2) release. There is a possibility of Stree 3, 4 and 5.”
However, Kaushik emphasized that any decision on future instalments will depend on the reception of the upcoming film. “As for me, if there is a demand, if I’m asked, I will make [Stree 3]. But, I won’t make it just for the sake of it. There should be demand [from the audience]. Story mere paas hain, demand ayegi toh main bana dunga (I have the story; I will make it only if demanded),” he exclaimed.
Kaushik shared nervousness upon the release of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s upcoming movie due to the high expectations surrounding the film. He said, “But we’ve made a good film, with full honesty. So, we’re hoping the people will like it.”
