Huda Kattan, the founder of Huda Beauty, has reclaimed her role as CEO and announced some important changes for her company. In a video posted on Instagram, Kattan expressed her joy at returning to the position and her regret over stepping down in 2020.
“Today what I want to share with you guys is the mistake that I made that almost killed our company. It has been one the biggest regret of my life. I am finally taking back my power as CEO of Huda Beauty,” said Kattan in her announcement video.
Kattan, who originally stepped down as CEO in 2020, handed over the reins to Nathalie Kristo, who had been with the company since 2018. Kattan and her husband were later appointed co-CEOs in 2021.
Reflecting on her decision to step down, Kattan shared, “I felt at the moment that it was wrong but I felt that I didn’t know better and that I should listen to people outside even though the voices in my head said ‘trust yourself, listen to yourself.’ I shut them down and I was like no don’t listen to myself actually, listen to the people around you. Which is crazy to me now because listening to myself is what helped me build my business.”
As part of her return, Kattan plans to rebrand Huda Beauty by the end of 2024, introducing a new logo, product packaging, and brand identity. This decision aligns with her holistic approach to adapt to rising consumer demands and influencer brands.
Kattan also announced the discontinuation of the Glowish makeup and skincare hybrid line, which will end after three years on the market. She revealed that she began leading product development again last year, a role she hadn’t held since 2019.
Huda Beauty has already introduced the new Creamy Obsession Eyeshadow Palette, with more products expected to launch later this year.
