Halle Berry will no longer star in or executive produce the upcoming Hulu legal drama series “All’s Fair,” reported Variety citing exclusive sources.
This news comes just a week after Berry’s involvement in the series was announced, where she was set to join Glenn Close and Kim Kardashian. The series would have marked one of the few regular television roles in the Oscar and Emmy winner’s career. A source closely aware of situation said that Berry had to bow out due to a scheduling conflict.
“All’s Fair,” created by Ryan Murphy, will revolve around an all-female law firm in Los Angeles. Specific details about Berry’s character were not disclosed.
Berry’s upcoming projects include the Netflix film “The Union” alongside Mark Wahlberg, premiering on 16th August, and the Lionsgate horror film “Never Let Go,” set for release on 27th September.
Murphy is serving as writer, director, and executive producer for “All’s Fair,” the first series under his new overall deal with Disney following his previous Netflix agreement. The writing and executive producing team includes Jon Robin Baitz, Joe Baken, Jamie Pachino, Laura Greene, and Richard Levine. Kardashian and Close are executive producers along with Kris Jenner, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, and Scott Robertson. Close will produce under her Trillium Productions banner. The series will be produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television.
According to reports, “All’s Fair” is one of five shows to receive a portion of $58 million in tax credits from the California Film Commission. The series is expected to film for 97 days in California, including 10 days outside the Los Angeles area.
