The much-anticipated Sky Original film “LEE,” starring Academy Award winner Kate Winslet, is set to premiere in UK and Irish cinemas on 13th September 2024. Directed by acclaimed cinematographer Ellen Kuras, the film showcases Winslet in the role of the iconic American photographer Lee Miller, known for her groundbreaking work during World War II.

The new trailer offers a powerful glimpse into Miller’s life as she ventures onto the front lines to capture significant wartime images for British Vogue. Despite facing immense challenges as a female correspondent and the emotional toll of war, Miller remains steadfast in her mission to document the truth about the Nazi regime.

Joining Winslet is an ensemble cast including Andy Samberg as Life Magazine photographer David E. Scherman, Alexander Skarsgård as English Surrealist Roland Penrose, Marion Cotillard as French Vogue fashion director Solange D’Ayen, and Andrea Riseborough as British Vogue Editor Audrey Withers. Josh O’Connor also stars as Tony, a young journalist. Additional cast members feature Noemie Merlant, Arinzé Kene, Vincent Colombe, Patrick Mille, Samuel Barnett, and Zita Hanrot.

The film’s synopsis highlights Miller’s determination to reveal the harsh realities of the Nazi regime through her photography, a commitment that came with significant personal sacrifices. “LEE” marks Ellen Kuras’s directorial debut and is written by Liz Hannah, Lem Dobbs, John Collee, and Marion Hume, based on “The Lives of Lee Miller” by Antony Penrose, who also serves as a consultant on the production.

The multi-award-winning creative team includes Director of Photography Pawel Edelman, Production Designer Gemma Jackson, Costume Designer Michael O’Connor, Hair and Makeup Designer Ivana Primorac, and music composed and conducted by two-time Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat.
