Snoop Dogg will be among the final torchbearers of the Olympic flame during its last hours touring France ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony on Friday, reported Deadline. The rapper is in Paris for the games, serving as a sportscaster on NBC’s Primetime in Paris show, where he will work alongside Mike Tirico, the primetime host for NBC’s Olympic coverage. According to local media, Snoop Dogg will carry the flame during its penultimate leg on Friday in the northern Paris suburb of Saint-Denis. This area is hosting part of the Olympic Village and is home to Stade de France and the new Olympic Aquatics Centre. The flame will then move to its final destination, the Olympic cauldron in the Tuileries Gardens in central Paris, where it will remain for the duration of the 2024 Olympics. Other French personalities set to carry the flame on Friday include rapper MC Solaar, actress Laetitia Casta, Saint Omer film director Alice Diop, Paralympian Charles-Antoine Kouakou, and rugby player Abdelatif Benazzi. The identity of the final torchbearer has not yet been announced. The Olympic flame arrived in France from Greece on 8th May, marked by a ceremony in the port city of Marseille, and has been touring the country since. According to an NBC release, Snoop Dogg will attend Olympic competitions, visit with athletes and their families, and “explore the unique sights and sounds that only Paris has to offer” as part of his coverage of the games.
