The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) is set to present a vibrant cultural showcase at India House during the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics from 27th July to 11th August. This initiative, starting with the Opening Ceremony featuring Bollywood sensation Shaan, will bring the essence of India’s rich heritage to the global stage.
India House, conceptualized by the Reliance Foundation in partnership with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), will curate exclusive experiences including artistic showcases, art exhibits, and live performances. This marks the first-ever India House in Olympic history, situated in the iconic Parc de la Villette. The project aims to highlight Founder and Chairperson Nita M. Ambani’s vision of presenting the best of India to the world.
The Paris Olympics is highly anticipated, marking the return to full-capacity crowds after eight years. India House will celebrate the nation’s cultural and sporting heritage, showcasing its storied past, vibrant present, and exciting future, alongside advancements in technology and digitalization.
Experiences at India House:
1. Musical Performances: Featuring Bollywood singer Shaan, sitarist and composer Tommy Khosla & JAWARI band, The Raghu Dixit Project, and South Asian A Cappella group Penn Masala.
2. Design and Indian Tattoo: Try your hand at block printing with experts.
3. Mallakhamb: Dynamic displays of Indian pole wrestling by visually challenged athletes from Shree Samarth Vyayam Mandir.
4. Wellness: Yoga workshops by Praveen Bisht and meditation sessions by Meditation with Heartfulness.
Engagement Activities:
1. Athlete Medal Celebrations: Meet and greet sporting legends, join fan watch parties, and celebrate India’s athletes and their victories.
2. Free Bollywood Dance Workshops: Open to all attendees.
3. Yoga Workshops: Conducted by Praveen Bisht, blending traditional practices with modern needs.
4. Henna Artistry: Intricate designs by Bollywood Henna artist Veena Nagda.
5. Sports Experiences: Cricket nets, Indian sports like Mallakhamb, and an Olympic Games Zone featuring VR.
