Amazon Prime Video’s spy thriller series “Citadel” is gearing up for its second season with the addition of three recurring cast members. According Variety exclusive report Merle Dandridge, Rahul Kohli, and Michael Trucco will join the show, appearing alongside returning stars Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, and Stanley Tucci.
Recent cast announcements for the upcoming season also include Jack Reynor, Matt Berry, and Gabriel Leone.
Angela Russo-Otstot, executive producer and chief creative officer of AGBO, the series’ production company, shared her excitement about the new season. “The second season will build on the intense action and complex characters introduced in the first season, promising even more thrilling twists and intrigue,” said Russo-Otstot. She also highlighted the expansion of the “Citadel” universe with the upcoming spin-offs, “Citadel: Diana” from Italy and “Citadel: Honey Bunny” from India, further enriching the show’s narrative landscape.
Merle Dandridge, who recently appeared in HBO’s “The Last of Us,” is known for her roles in “Station 19,” “Greenleaf,” “The Flight Attendant,” and “Sons of Anarchy.” On Broadway, she has starred in productions such as “Spamalot,” “Rent,” “Aida,” and “Tarzan.” Dandridge is represented by SDB Partners, Cornerstone Talent, and Schreck Rose.
Rahul Kohli has frequently collaborated with Mike Flanagan such as “The Fall of the House of Usher,” “Midnight Mass,” “The Midnight Club,” and “The Haunting of Bly Manor.” His other credits include “Death and Other Details” and “iZombie.” Kohli will also appear in Flanagan’s upcoming film “The Life of Chuck.” He is represented by Artists First and McKuin Frankel Whitehead.
Michael Trucco, also a frequent Flanagan collaborator, has roles in “The Fall of the House of Usher,” “Midnight Mass,” “The Life of Chuck,” and the film “Hush.” He currently stars in CBS’s “Fire Country” and is known for his role as Samuel Anders in the reimagined “Battlestar Galactica.” His other notable works include “Disjointed,” “Pensacola: Wings of Gold,” “One Tree Hill,” and “Beverly Hills 90210.” Trucco is represented by AFA Prime Talent Media and Innovative Artists.
Season 2 of “Citadel” will commence production later this year, with David Weil returning as showrunner and executive producer. Anthony and Joe Russo will continue as executive producers under the AGBO banner, with Joe Russo directing the entire season. Amazon MGM Studios is producing the series.
