The adaptation of Jo Nesbø’s crime thriller series “Harry Hole” has just unveiled its star-studded cast, joining previously announced leads Tobias Santelmann, Joel Kinnaman and Pia Tjelta. The show, directed by Anna Zackrisson, known for work like “Deliver Me” and “The Helicopter Heist” is shaping up to be one of the most exciting projects in the crime drama genre.
The cast is brimming with talent, including Peter Stormare, Anders Baasmo Christiansen, Kåre Conradi, Simon Berger, Fridtjov Såheim, and Eili Harboe Other notable names joining the ensemble are Atle Antonsen, Manish Sharma, Henriette Steenstrup, Jesper Christensen, Kristoffer Joner, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, and Linn Skåber.
The series, titled Jo Nesbø’s Harry Hole (or Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole outside the Nordics), follows the iconic anti-hero Harry Hole, a brilliant but troubled homicide detective. The first season will delve into a gripping whodunnit involving a serial killer, with Harry clashing against his longtime nemesis, the corrupt detective Tom Waaler. As the two navigate the murky waters of law enforcement, the series promises to explore the blurred lines between right and wrong, adding depth to this intense crime drama.
Directed by Øystein Karlsen and Anna Zackrisson, the series has Jo Nesbø himself as the creator and screenwriter, ensuring the adaptation stays true to the source material. Produced by Tor Arne Øvrebø and executive produced by a team including Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Katy Rozelle, Rene Ezra, Øystein Karlsen, Jo Nesbø, and Niclas Salomonsson, the series is backed by Working Title Television and Universal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group.
With a total of nine episodes, Jo Nesbø’s Harry Hole is set to premiere in 2026 on Netflix.
