The much-anticipated historical drama Chhava, starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, has been making waves since its announcement, and now, after much anticipation, the teaser has finally been launched. Fans are already buzzing with excitement following the release of the teaser, which was also showcased before screenings of Stree 2. The film is set to release on 6th December.
The teaser offers a powerful introduction to Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of the legendary Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The first look of the film promises a visual spectacle, featuring intense battle scenes and a commanding performance by Kaushal. His portrayal of the Maratha emperor has drawn immediate comparisons to Ranveer Singh’s role in Bajirao Mastani, though Kaushal’s performance is poised to carve its own path.
Vicky Kaushal, who is known for his versatility, took to social media ahead of the teaser release to share the film’s first poster. The teaser, that was attached to Stree 2, features intense war scenes, showcasing Vicky Kaushal in a powerful and commanding role. His portrayal of the Maratha emperor is both regal and convincing.
In Chhava, Kaushal steps into the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, while Rashmika Mandanna portrays his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale. The film also boasts a strong supporting cast, including Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta. According to a report by Pinkvilla, actor Neil Bhoopalam will also feature in the film as a Mughal prince.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, who previously collaborated with Kaushal on the hit film Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (2023), Chhava is set to be another standout project in his filmography. Utekar, known for his work on Mimi (2021) and Luka Chuppi (2019), has wrapped up filming earlier this year, and the buzz around the project continues to grow as the release date approaches.
