Ryan Guzman, best known for his role as Eddie Diaz in the hit series “9-1-1,” has been cast in the upcoming action thriller “Midnight,” produced by Yale Productions and Night Fox Entertainment. While details about Guzman’s role are being kept under wraps, it is described as “pivotal.”
Guzman joins an already impressive cast, including Rosario Dawson, Alexandra Shipp, and Milla Jovovich. In addition to their starring roles, Dawson, Shipp, and Jovovich are also serving as executive producers for the film, which recently completed production in Connecticut under the direction of Joshua Otis Miller.
Written by Lamont Magee and Jeff Byrd, Midnight centers around a young blind woman, played by Shipp, who becomes the target of a group of international criminals led by Jovovich’s character. The criminals are in pursuit of a package they believe was entrusted to the woman by her federal agent sister, portrayed by Dawson. However, the criminals soon discover that their target, despite her blindness, is far more dangerous than they anticipated.
Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman are producing the film for Yale Productions, collaborating with Dawson and Leah Elizabeth Rucinski. Timothy Christian and Rab Butler of Night Fox Entertainment are also on board as producers, alongside David Gere, Chelsea Vale, and Beth Bryant. Michael Day is serving as co-producer.
The executive producing team features an extensive lineup, including Sean Krajewski, Ronnie Exley, Jeremy Ross, Lawrence Minicone, and many others. Magee and Byrd are also credited as co-executive producers on the project.
Guzman, who has been a regular on “9-1-1” since its second season, continues to captivate audiences with his portrayal of firefighter and paramedic Eddie Diaz. The series, which originally aired on FOX before moving to ABC for its upcoming seventh season, explores the lives of first responders in Los Angeles. On the film front, Guzman recently appeared in The Present, sharing the screen with Isla Fisher and Greg Kinnear.
Guzman is represented by Paradigm Talent Agency, Luber Roklin Entertainment, and Meyer & Downs.
