Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift concluded the European leg of her Eras Tour with a record-breaking performance at Wembley Stadium, delivering a night packed with surprises. The pop superstar was joined on stage by Florence + The Machine and Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff, treating fans to the premiere of a new music video and the first-ever live rendition of her song So Long, London.

This marked Swift’s eighth concert at Wembley this summer, surpassing the record for most shows by a solo artist, previously held by Michael Jackson during his Bad Tour in 1988. “You just made me the first solo artist to ever play Wembley eight times in a single tour,” she told the crowd. “We will never, ever be able to thank you enough for it.”

In addition to breaking that record, Swift’s final show at Wembley also tied her with Take That for the most performances at the venue during a single tour, matching the band’s achievement from their Progress Tour in 2011.

Swift’s Eras Tour, which has dominated headlines throughout the summer, crisscrossed Europe, with the Wembley finale marking the 131st show of her two-year journey. In the UK alone, she performed for nearly 1.2 million fans, contributing an estimated £1 billion to the country’s economy.

The tour’s impact was even felt in unexpected places. A team of geophysicists in Edinburgh recorded seismic waves, caused by fans dancing during the song Ready For It? at Murrayfield Stadium, which moved the ground by a maximum of 23.4 nanometres (nm).

Swift’s Eras Tour has not only been a commercial success but also a cultural phenomenon, leaving an indelible mark on fans and the music industry alike.
