Tragically, Surjit Bedi passed away shortly before the book’s official publication, but he was able to view a test print of his biography—a heartfelt tribute to his rich life and enduring legacy. Over the past few months, the Kagaz ke Phool team developed a close relationship with Surjit Ji, whose kindness and wisdom left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege to meet him. To honor his memory, the book was launched during his Antim Ardas Ceremony, a gesture that deeply reflects the love and respect his family held for him.
Gurpreet Bedi, Surjit Ji’s son, expressed his gratitude for the project, stating, “We’re so lucky and grateful we got to record and preserve his story. Had we been a few months late, I wonder if we could have the book in our hands today.”
