Saif Ali Khan is making his much-anticipated return to the iconic Race franchise with the upcoming film, Race 4, according to reports. After extensive discussions with producer Ramesh Taurani, the duo has officially decided to reboot the beloved action-thriller series, which has garnered a massive fan following over the years.

The Race franchise, originally created by Abbas Mustan, is renowned for its stunning visuals, captivating music, stylish aesthetics, and unexpected twists. Following the lukewarm reception of the third installment, there has been significant demand from fans for a reboot. According to exclusive insights from Pinkvilla, Ramesh Taurani is committed to revitalizing the series.

A source close to the production revealed, “Saif Ali Khan has been discussing Race 4 with Ramesh Taurani for a while now, and the duo has finally come to the agreement of rebooting the franchise. The actor has agreed in principle and is excited to get into the world of Race again. Ramesh Taurani is aiming to take the film on floors in the first quarter of 2025.”

The script for Race 4 is currently in development, with the basic plot already locked. The source added, “While the basic plot of Race 4 is locked, the team is presently working on the screenplay. Apart from Saif Ali Khan, a big ensemble will come on board and the casting is also underway. The makers are also looking to reboot it by getting in a fresh and credible voice to direct the film.”

Discussions are ongoing with several established filmmakers to helm Race 4, which might also carry the title Race Reboot. “Race is a dear franchise, and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to bring it back to the audience with the OG, Saif Ali Khan in lead,” the source concluded.

Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan is preparing to shoot for Priyadarshan’s upcoming thriller, which will see Bobby Deol take on the role of the antagonist. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for further updates on this exciting development.
