The hit series “Yellowstone” may continue its run beyond the upcoming fifth season, with discussions underway for a potential sixth season. According to sources, the new season would feature Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, two of the show’s standout stars, taking the lead.

While deals have yet to be finalized, the intention is for “Yellowstone” to continue after Season 5B, which is expected to mark the departure of Kevin Costner’s iconic character, John Dutton. Costner has already confirmed he will not return for the remaining episodes.

Initially, Season 5B was announced as the series’ final chapter. However, the teaser for its November 10 premiere did not explicitly label it as the end of the saga, leaving the door open for more.

Reilly and Hauser, who portray Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler respectively, have been negotiating new contracts for several months. Initially, these talks were believed to be related to a “Yellowstone” spinoff. Following Season 5B, the first contemporary spinoff, “The Madison,” starring Michelle Pfeiffer, is expected to air.

“Yellowstone” follows the Dutton family, owners of the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States, as they navigate a world of shifting alliances, unsolved crimes, and ongoing conflicts with neighboring forces, including an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and the nation’s first national park.

Executive producers of the series include Taylor Sheridan, Kevin Costner, John Linson, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari, Stephen Kay, Michael Friedman, Christina Voros, and Keith Cox. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
