The highly anticipated spin-off film “Bangkok Breaking: Heaven and Hell” is set to premiere on Netflix on 26th September, bringing a new chapter to the Bangkok Breaking series. The film follows the journey of Wanchai, an ordinary man thrust into extraordinary circumstances, as he navigates a chaotic and riotous community.
Directed by Kome-Kongkiat Komesiri, known for his work on the “Khun Pan” trilogy, the film promises to be a survival thriller that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. “Our intention was to make viewers feel like they’re short of breath,” Kome explained. “It’s a non-stop action movie where Wanchai faces one crisis after another, and viewers won’t know what to expect next,” he added.
The newly released trailer offers a glimpse into the intense scenes and social commentary that “Bangkok Breaking: Heaven and Hell” will explore. Riot scenes, explosive action, and a struggle for survival are just some of the elements that make this film a gripping addition to the series.
Kome and his team dedicated themselves to creating a realistic setting for the film, meticulously constructing the Ruamjai Housing Community, which serves as the backdrop for many of the film’s intense chase sequences. One of the standout moments is a riot scene captured with a 360-degree perspective, featuring explosions, fire trucks, and even actors set on fire.
Reflecting on one of his favorite scenes to film, Kome shared, “When we finished filming and reviewed the footage, everyone applauded and agreed it was worth it. I also liked the slum set. I loved that scene because we built up an entire city without using any CG. We used a drone, and everything was set up realistically.”
The commitment to practical effects and set design not only brought authenticity to the film but also helped immerse the cast and crew in the story, enhancing the intensity of the action sequences.
To build chemistry among the cast, the team spent significant time together early in the shoot. Weir-Sukollawat Kanaros, who reprises his role as Wanchai, recalls, “Early in the shooting, we shot 25 sequences in an ambulance, which accounted for only 25 minutes of the film. This definitely made everyone feel in sync and prepared us for the rest of what we had to film.”
Weir leads an ensemble cast that includes Mind 4EVE, Doo-Sanya Kunakorn, UK-Natthaya Ongsritragul, Day Thaitanium, Mamio-Sutipat Sutiwanit, and Fluke-Teerapat Lohananand.
