The buzz around “Son of Sardaar 2” just got more exciting with the confirmation of Sanjay Dutt rejoining the cast for the film’s Punjab shoot. Dutt, who initially raised concerns about his involvement after being dropped from the UK schedule, is now set to team up with Ajay Devgn, adding fuel to the anticipation for this sequel.
While Ajay Devgn is currently filming in Edinburgh alongside Mrunal Thakur, reports from Dainik Bhaskar reveal that Sanjay Dutt will officially reunite with Devgn for the upcoming Punjab leg of shooting. This news is a welcome treat for fans of the original 2012 hit, “Son of Sardaar,” particularly after Dutt’s earlier exit from the project due to UK visa issues.
In a twist that sets this sequel apart from its predecessor, the film will take on a new storyline with a completely different cast of characters. While it won’t directly connect to the original, “Son of Sardaar 2” promises to maintain the high-energy action and excitement that fans loved in the first film. According to rumors, Dutt’s role will resemble the comic don vibes of his iconic Vasooli Bhai character from “Golmaal”.
The plot will reportedly focus on a gang war between Bihari and Punjabi dons, with Sanjay Dutt playing a key role. Meanwhile, Sanjay Mishra has stepped in for Ravi Kishan’s role, which was initially slated for Vijay Raaz. The Punjab schedule of the film, directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, is expected to begin in October 2024, with dynamic action sequences set against the colorful and vibrant backdrop of the region.
The film features Vindu Dara Singh, Chunky Panday, Neeru Bajwa, Deepak Dobriyal, Kubbra Sait, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Roshni Walia with Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, and Mrunal Thakur leading the film.
