When Beetlejuice came out in 1988, audiences and fans of Tim Burton flooded the cinemas. It became a cult-classic and created a huge demand for merchandise and collectibles. Fast forward 30 years and Tim Burton has graced us with the much-awaited Beetlejuice Beetlejuice with Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder returning as Betelgeus and Lydia respectively. As it’s released in cinemas, here’s 5 reasons why you need to watch it:

  1. The return of Lydia and Betelgeus:

If you have seen the first film, you’ll know that Betelgues is all for chaos and his ‘love’ for Lydia. The chemistry between two is like a see-saw in the first film and this dynamic returns as Lydia is torn between looking out for her daughter and trying to keep Betelgeus at bay.

  1. Jenna Ortega:

Since her break-out role in Wednesday, Jenna Ortega has made a name for herself. She has become Hollywood’s favourite and with the addition of her character, Astrid, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice brings in a new type of audience that will love the film as much as fans of the original.

  1. Tim Burton’s vision:

Who doesn’t love a Tim Burton film? His films, although creepy, bring a sense of comedy which makes them an enjoyable watch without feeling scared. Of course, he does it again but he also brings something new to give a fresh take to the original.

  1. The return of a classic:

Who didn’t love the first film? It was exceptionally crafted and beautifully made, from its characters to the sets, that allows the audience to escape and travel in the world that they would never be able to in reality. The perfect film to watch if you want to return to Winter River this Halloween season.

  1. Perfect for Halloween:

With Halloween just around the corner, what better way to spend it watching Beetlejuice Beetlejuice? The perfect film to watch with family and friends!
