Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o is launching a ten-part podcast series titled “Mind Your Own With Lupita Nyong’o,” which will focus on storytelling from the African diaspora, as per exclusive report by Deadline. Produced by KQED’s Snap Studios and with ad sales, marketing, and distribution handled by Lemonada Media, the podcast will explore themes of identity, belonging, and culture from an African perspective.

Nyong’o, who was born in Mexico, raised in Kenya, and has spent two decades in the US, will share personal stories and host guests from cities like Nairobi, Addis Ababa, and Los Angeles. The podcast will feature six African languages and music from 15 different composers.

Reflecting on the importance of the series, Nyong’o said, “It is deeply important to me that honest and authentic stories about the African experience are made widely available to all,” adding that the project reflects her personal connection to the narratives and the work of a talented African team.

The first two episodes of the podcastwill be released on 19th September, with new episodes airing weekly.

Lemonada Media’s CEO, Jessica Cordova Kramer, praised the series, said, “The moment we put ears on this series, we knew how special it would be. Lupita brings her whole self to this project, and the Snap Studios team created a work of art.”

Nyong’o is known for her work in “12 Years a Slave” and “Black Panther,”. Her future projects include DreamWorks Animation’s “The Wild Robot,” scheduled to release on 27th September.
