The highly anticipated epic saga “Love and War,” directed by filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, has been postponed to March 2026, according to reports. The film was originally set to hit theaters in December 2025.
In an official statement, the filmmakers revealed the updated release plan, announcing that “Love and War” will now premiere on 20th March 2026. The revised release date aligns with a major holiday period, with festivals such as Ramzan, Ram Navmi, and Gudi Padwa falling within that stretch. The filmmakers are banking on this festive season to draw larger crowds to the box office.
“Amid the rising anticipation for SLB’s Love and War, an absolutely exhilarating update has arrived. The film is all set for its grand release on 20th March 2026. With this, the film will benefit from the longest holiday period, with major festivals like Ramzan, Ram Navmi, and Gudi Padwa following one after the other,” said the makers in their statement.
The decision to release the film during the holiday season reflects the production team’s confidence in capturing the audience’s attention over an extended festive period. This strategic move is expected to maximize box office potential.
As the buzz surrounding Love and War grows, fans are excited to see Bhansali’s signature grandeur paired with an A-list cast. The film marks the director’s first reunion with Ranbir Kapoor since their 2007 collaboration Saawariya, which underperformed at the box office. Bhansali also reteams with Alia Bhatt after the success of Gangubai Kathiawadi, while Vicky Kaushal joins Bhansali’s cinematic universe for the first time.
With an epic storyline, lavish production, and powerhouse performances, Love and War is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema. Fans will be counting down the days until its release in March 2026, during the biggest holiday stretch of the year.
