SkyShowtime is set to enhance its growing portfolio with the highly anticipated Yellowstone sequel, The Madison, along with a slew of premium US and international series, the European streaming platform revealed.
A joint venture between Paramount and Comcast, SkyShowtime, available in over 20 European markets, is capitalizing on the runaway success of Yellowstone. The upcoming sequel, The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer, will be a key addition to its catalog, though it is not expected to premiere until 2025. Meanwhile, season two of 1923, a Yellowstone prequel starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, will also bolster its lineup. The streamer will further lean into the Yellowstone theme with Yellowstone 150, a documentary where Kevin Costner explores the national park’s preservation history.
“We continue to expand our offering with must-see series such as Lockerbie: A Search for Truth and The Agency, along with exciting spin-offs and returning fan favourites,” said SkyShowtime Chief Content Officer Kai Finke. “We are also excited to announce the expansion of the Yellowstone universe with The Madison and the second season of 1923,” added the Finke.
SkyShowtime’s access to Paramount, NBCUniversal, and Sky Studios’ rich content pipeline will bring additional heavy hitters, including The Agency, a political thriller starring Michael Fassbender and executive produced by George Clooney, based on the French drama Le Bureau des Légendes.
Other high-profile shows set for release include Dennis Quaid’s Happy Face, a chilling drama about a real-life serial killer, Dexter: Resurrection, and the third season of the hit series Yellowjackets.
SkyShowtime is also delivering UK-produced content like Lockerbie: A Search for Truth, starring Colin Firth, which examines the infamous air disaster, and the Spanish true crime docuseries A Recipe for Murder.
“We’re delighted to bolster our slate of local titles with a thrilling true crime documentary from Spain, A Recipe for Murder,” added Finke, reflecting on the platform’s focus on local originals as it aims to bring up to 20 shows this year.
SkyShowtime will also be home to several first-run movies, including IF, Kung Fu Panda 4, Back to Black, and The Fall Guy, ensuring a robust offering of blockbuster films alongside its growing series roster.
