Live event in Atlanta showcases major updates on shows like Squid Game, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Wednesday, and more
Geeked Week 2024 kicked off with a bang in Atlanta, bringing together thousands of fans in person and streaming live to millions worldwide on YouTube, Twitch, and X. In its fourth year, Netflix’s annual fan event expanded in scale, delivering breaking news, exclusive clips, and trailers for some of the platform’s most anticipated series and films.
Hosted by actor Joe Manganiello, who revealed his casting as the villain Mr. 0 in One Piece Season 2, the two-hour event offered fans a first look at upcoming projects across Netflix’s lineup, including new seasons of Squid Game, Black Mirror, and Avatar: The Last Airbender, as well as updates on upcoming video games and films.
Major Announcements and Exclusive Sneak Peeks
In addition to previews of hit series like Wednesday and The Sandman, Netflix also treated audiences to never-before-seen footage from upcoming films like Don’t Move, It’s What’s Inside, and The Platform 2. The live event offered fans the chance to interact through activities like Geeked Trivia Battle and the Cosplay Showcase, while also unveiling exciting gaming projects like Squid Game: Unleashed and Monument Valley 3.
One of the biggest announcements was the release schedule for the final chapter of Arcane, which will drop across three acts in November. Fans also got their first look at Season 7 of Black Mirror, set to premiere in 2025, and a peek behind the scenes of Stranger Things: The First Shadow, coming to Broadway.

Star-Studded Appearances
The event boasted an all-star lineup of guest appearances, including Alycia Debnam-Carey (It’s What’s Inside), Dallas Liu (Avatar: The Last Airbender), Tom Sturridge (The Sandman), Zack Snyder (Rebel Moon), and WWE stars Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Cobra Kai’s Jacob Bertrand and Xolo Maridueña served as emcees for the Fan Zone Pod Stage, engaging with fans and breaking down the latest trailers and exclusives.
As the event got underway, Manganiello hyped up his new role in One Piece alongside Lera Abova, who will play Miss All-Sunday. The two join an expanding cast for the hit live-action series, which is set to explore the dangerous Baroque Works criminal organization in its second season.
Interactive Fun and Fan Recognition
Fans at Geeked Week 2024 had the opportunity to win prizes through the interactive Red Light, Green Light game, inspired by Squid Game, and participate in hands-on experiences like the Netflix Has Games Lounge. The event also honored fans in the Geeked Hall of Fandom, where awards were handed out for Best Fan Art, Best Fan Craft, Best Fan Transformation, and Best Fan Moment.
Upcoming Releases and New Game Announcements
Looking ahead, Netflix showcased several upcoming games, including Blood Line: Rebel Moon, an online co-op action game set in Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon universe. Players can sign up for the closed beta now.
Other gaming titles announced included Civilization VI, Street Fighter IV CE, and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, alongside the highly anticipated release of Monument Valley 3, set to launch exclusively on Netflix Games this December.
Final Chapters and New Beginnings
The show’s excitement culminated in previews for several fan-favorite franchises. Squid Game Season 2 will arrive on December 26, while fans of Devil May Cry can expect a new animated series in April 2025. Meanwhile, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft will hit Netflix on October 10, and a brand-new anime adaptation of Sakamoto Days is on the way.
As the final season of The Umbrella Academy approaches, fans were treated to exclusive bloopers, while The Platform 2 promises to deliver another chilling installment on October 4.
“We went back to set and brought the biggest Stranger Things geeks to check it out,” said the Stranger Things team, teasing upcoming projects. Meanwhile, Joe Manganiello expressed excitement about his new villainous role in One Piece: “With power cloaked in mystery and intentions hidden behind ominous smiles, these two [Mr. 0 and Miss All-Sunday] will stop at nothing.”
As Geeked Week 2024 wrapped up, Netflix left fans eager for what’s to come, with new seasons, games, and exclusive content set to dominate screens in the months ahead.
