The second season of Netflix’s hit horror series Hellbound is set to premiere on 25th October, bringing back its chilling dystopian world. A new teaser poster and launch trailer have been released, hinting at the suspense and chaos awaiting fans in the upcoming season.
Hellbound season 1, which was named Best Horror Series at the 2021 Golden Tomato Awards, received widespread acclaim, ranking within the Top 10 TV shows in 93 countries just ten days after its release. The story’s continuation in season 2 promises even more intrigue.
Returning characters include lawyer Min Hyejin, alongside factions like Sodo, The New Truth, and the Arrowheads, all grappling with the sudden resurrections of former New Truth Chairman Jung Jinsu and Park Jungja.
The teaser poster prominently features Jung Jinsu’s resurrection, setting the stage for his mysterious return. Jung, who was the first chairman of The New Truth, previously claimed to have received a prophecy from angels 20 years ago before being secretly executed by the monstrous enforcers. The image of him resurrecting in the same place he was condemned raises questions about his role in the coming events.
In the trailer, a fiery scene unfolds as Jung cries out following his resurrection, with an executor charging towards him, teasing the escalating tension and chaos to come. “As someone who loves the Hellbound universe, I’m both excited and nervous with anticipation for the series to meet fans after three years,” said director and writer Yeon Sang-ho. “For anyone who enjoyed the first season, Season 2 will be filled with interesting questions to think about,” he added.
