Prime Video is stirring up a fresh nightmare with Killer Cakes, a spine-chilling competition show where bakers fuse horror and confectionery artistry. The two-part special is set to debut globally on Prime Video across 240 countries and territories.
From the creative minds at Blumhouse Television and Cake Boss creators High Noon Entertainment, Killer Cakes offers a unique twist to traditional baking contests. Contestants will collaborate with top horror special effects artists in Hollywood to create grotesque, hyper-realistic cakes designed to terrify and disgust. “The bakers are going to unleash their twisted imaginations,” the press release teases, with challenges that push the boundaries of edible creations.
The show is hosted by horror icon Matthew Lillard, known for his roles in Scream and Five Nights at Freddy’s, who also serves as an executive producer. Joining him as expert judges are Danielle Harris, the renowned “Scream Queen” from the Halloween franchise, and experimental food artist Nikk Alcaraz, known for his cookbook Peculiar Baking.
The lineup of contestants includes skilled bakers from across the U.S., each ready to showcase their spine-tingling talents: Amanda Yother from Rathdrum, ID; Dillon Barlow from Houston, TX; Dziedra “Z” Brusberg from Marysville, WA; Deadra “Dee” Compean from Beaumont, TX; Eszter Summerlin from Gulf Breeze, FL; Jesse Lesser from Dallas, TX; Mark Lie from Chicago, IL; and Shanelle Long from Pensacola, FL. The competition promises to blend culinary mastery with horror-inspired visuals, making for a truly unique viewing experience.
Produced by Blumhouse Television and High Noon Entertainment in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios, Killer Cakes is helmed by showrunner Ruth Amsel.
