Prime Video has officially greenlit a spinoff series from its hit drama Reacher, featuring Maria Sten reprising her role as fan-favorite character Frances Neagley. The announcement was made by Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios, during the Prime Video Presents: Trailblazers event in London.

The untitled project, also referred to as Neagley, has been on a fast track to production, as previously reported by Deadline. Nick Santora, executive producer and showrunner of the original series, alongside Nicholas Wootton, will co-showrun the spinoff. The series is a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television, and CBS Studios.

Frances Neagley is a private investigator in Chicago and a former military colleague of Jack Reacher, played by Alan Ritchson. The storyline will follow her as she seeks justice for a beloved friend’s suspicious death, utilizing her skills from her time in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit and her experiences with Reacher.

“Expanding on the storytelling and characters with a spinoff was an easy decision,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios. “We’re confident this new chapter, starring the amazing Maria Sten, will not only honor the Reacher legacy but also bring fresh energy and excitement to new and longtime fans alike,” added Sanders.
