Kathryn Bigelow is reuniting with Jason Clarke for her next film at Netflix, according to Deadline exclusive report. Clarke previously collaborated with Bigelow on the acclaimed film Zero Dark Thirty, and now joins a lineup that includes Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Jared Harris, Greta Lee, Tracy Letts, Moses Ingram, Anthony Ramos, and Gabriel Basso.

The film’s title and plot remain under wraps; however, sources have indicated that the story will unfold at the White House amid a national crisis. This project marks Bigelow’s first feature film since her 2017 thriller Detroit, which was an awards contender and produced by Annapurna Pictures.

Bigelow and Clarke first teamed up on Zero Dark Thirty, a film that chronicled the real-life hunt for Osama Bin Laden and starred Jessica Chastain. Clarke’s recent work includes a role in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, which garnered the Oscar for Best Picture. He has also appeared in HBO’s Winning Time: Rise of the Lakers Dynasty and the Apple TV+ series The Last Frontier.

While Netflix has yet to comment on Clarke’s casting, his addition to the project further heightens anticipation for what is expected to be a gripping thriller. Clarke is represented by Robert Stein Management, CAA, and attorney Carlos Goodman.

As Bigelow continues to carve out her distinct voice in cinema, fans are eager to see how her vision unfolds in this new thriller, combining powerful performances with her renowned directorial style.
