It is officially confirmed that Bollywood actor Bobby Deol will star alongside Thalapathy Vijay in Thalapathy 69. This marks Deol’s second foray into Tamil cinema, following his role in the upcoming fantasy epic Kanguva, where he faces off against Suriya. In Thalapathy 69, Deol will take on the role of the antagonist.
KVN Productions took to social media to make the announcement, wrote, “100% official now, Super happy & excited to announce that @thedeol joins #Thalapathy69 cast 🔥.” Bobby Deol’s career has seen a resurgence, particularly with his acclaimed performances in negative roles, most notably in the recent film Animal. With his role in Thalapathy 69, Deol continues to build a strong presence in this genre, and his involvement has already generated considerable buzz.
While plot details for Thalapathy 69 remain closely guarded, insiders suggest the film could be a political drama with deep emotional undertones. Director H Vinoth initially pitched the project to Vijay back in 2017, but for reasons unknown, it didn’t move forward at the time. Vinoth later approached other stars, including Kamal Haasan and Ajith Kumar, but ultimately the project returned to Vijay, much to the delight of fans.
Anticipation for the film is at an all-time high, with reports indicating that Vijay is set to become the highest-paid actor in Asia, earning a staggering Rs 275 crore for his role. Produced by KVN Productions, Thalapathy 69 is already creating a buzz following the success of Vijay’s recent film The Greatest of All Time (also known as The GOAT).
According to reports, this could be Vijay’s final film before he transitions into full-time politics. The actor has hinted at stepping away from cinema after this project to focus on his political ambitions. The for the film is set to begin later this week.
