Melissa Barrera and Sinclair Daniel’s name has been announced as series regulars in an untitled thriller series for Peacock, according to reports. Created by Legacies writer Thomas Brandon and directed by Jet Wilkinson, the show promises a tense blend of espionage and technology set “five minutes into the future.”
In the upcoming series, actor Simu Liu stars as Alexander Hale, a first-generation American intelligence analyst who discovers his brain has been hacked, compromising everything he sees and hears. With shadowy forces pulling the strings, Hale is thrust into a high-stakes game, trying to uncover the hackers’ identity while keeping up appearances within his agency.
Barrera will portray Michelle, a character described as full of mystery, keeping viewers on edge. Sinclair Daniel takes on the role of Parker, an intelligence officer forced to quickly adapt to a new reality. Spotlight actor Brian d’Arcy James plays John Moira, a mentor unafraid of making difficult decisions. Mark O’Brien joins as Cobb, an ambitious intelligence agent, while Kathleen Chalfant plays St. George, a strategic leader with a long-term vision.
The series is being executive produced by James Wan, known for The Conjuring universe, alongside Liu, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett. Mark Winemaker and Jennifer Yale will serve as the co-showrunners, with the first two episodes set to be directed by Wilkinson.
