Shanaya Kapoor, the daughter of Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor gears up for her big-screen debut opposite versatile actor Vikrant Massey. Peepingmoon.com has revealed exclusively that the 24-year-old actor will star alongside Massey in Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, a romantic drama based on Ruskin Bond’s celebrated short story The Eyes Have It.

Shanaya will portray a theater actress, while Vikrant Massey takes on the role of a blind musician. Together, they embark on an emotional journey of love and self-discovery in a film packed with unexpected twists. The story explores deep themes such as compassion, independence, desire, perception, and confidence, all within a musical framework.

The film, directed by Santosh Singh, best known for helming shows like Broken But Beautiful and Apharan, is adapted from the script by acclaimed writers Niranjan Iyenger and Mansi Bagla. Iyenger, known for his work on popular films like My Name Is Khan and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, was initially set to direct but later handed over the reins to Singh, who has more experience with such romantic dramas.

Produced by Mansi Bagla and Varun Bagla under the Mini Films banner, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan marks the production house’s second collaboration with Vikrant Massey, following 2022’s Forensic remake. Filming is slated to begin later this month in Mussoorie, with additional locations planned in Mumbai and Europe. The movie is aiming for a mid-2025 release.

This marks Shanaya’s second acting role following her appearance in Mohanlal’s upcoming Vrushabha, a Telugu-Malayalam epic action film set for release early next year.

Meanwhile, Vikrant Massey is currently filming Rajkumar Hirani’s first web series for Disney+Hotstar and preparing for the release of his next film, The Sabarmati Report, scheduled to hits theaters on 15th November. He also has several projects in the pipeline, including a psychological thriller and an action film for Excel Entertainment, both set for 2025.
