Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and Tamil cinema legend Rajinikanth are set to share the screen once again, nearly 30 years after their collaboration in Aatank Hi Aatank in 1995. According to the Peepingmoon, this time, Aamir will make a special cameo appearance in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action thriller Coolie, led by Rajnikanth.
While details about Aamir’s role are being kept under tight wraps, sources say it’s a character crafted specifically for him. Director Lokesh has designed a powerful sequence that will feature Aamir and Rajinikanth together. Aamir is set to join the film’s next schedule, which kicks off on 15th October in Chennai.
Coolie, which marks Rajinikanth’s 171st leading role, also includes Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Sathyaraj, and Mahendran. Aamir’s involvement has only intensified the excitement around the film, as rumors swirl about a possible full-length collaboration between him and director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Although it’s unclear if their ongoing discussions pertain only to this cameo or if a larger project is in the works.
In recent months, Aamir has committed to several cameo appearances, with Coolie marking his third in just six months. He will also appear in Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol, and Vir Das’ Happy Patel. On the feature film front, Aamir will next be seen in RS Prasanna’s Sitaare Zameen Par, set for a March 2025 release.
