Just after the surprise release of her latest album Harlequin, Lady Gaga is once again gearing up for her seventh album’s lead single, titled “Disease,” that is set to release on 25th October.

However, Gaga hasn’t made any official announcement yet regarding her upcoming music venture, but her parent label, Universal Music posted a pre-save option for “Disease” on a dedicated pop-up website, sparking excitement among fans.

Fueling further speculation, Gaga curated a playlist on her Spotify account, cleverly arranging these tracks to spell out “Gaga Disease.” This coincided with Universal Music’s pop-up site, adding fuel to the excitement surrounding her new release. Previously, in September, Gaga teased the arrival of a new single in an itinerary post, which listed “XX October: LG7 first single,” hinting at her October release.

The American singer was last seen in Joker: Folie à Deux, which was not so successful as it struggled both critically and at the box office, with reports suggesting it could face potential losses between $150 to $200 million.

Just before the film’s debut, Gaga dropped Harlequin, a surprise album heavily influenced by her Joker character. The album leaned into American Songbook classics like “Get Happy,” “That’s Life,” and “That’s Entertainment,” along with a couple of original tracks. The release was reminiscent of her earlier collaborations with the late Tony Bennett, drawing parallels to her Grammy-nominated albums Cheek to Cheek and Love for Sale. However, Harlequin marked her lowest-charting full-length debut, landing at No. 20 on the Billboard 200.

Despite the mixed reception of Harlequin, Gaga’s duet with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile,” released in August, proved to be a commercial success. The track soared to No. 3 on the Hot 100 and accumulated hundreds of millions of streams, demonstrating her continued star power in the music industry.

Gaga’s last major studio album, Chromatica, arrived in 2020 and made waves despite the pandemic, debuting at No. 1 and producing the chart-topping hit “Rain on Me,” featuring Ariana Grande.
